How long does the fitting process take for a custom suit?
At YSG Tailors, we like to stay organised and ensure every detail of your made-to-measure suit is perfected. For wedding suits, we strongly encourage clients to start the process 6-9 months before the big day. This allows us to conduct an initial consultation, stagger follow-up fittings, and have the suit delivered 3-4 weeks prior to the wedding. However, we understand that timelines can sometimes shift. If you need a suit in a shorter time frame, don’t hesitate to reach out – while this timeline is ideal for ensuring a seamless process, our expert tailors are fully equipped to work within tighter deadlines.

What does the fitting process look like for a custom or made-to-measure suit?
You’ll come in to meet our suit tailors for an initial “meet and greet”, with three fittings following that. The meet and greet is all about getting to know what you want from a made-to-measure suit; the first fitting is putting that into action. The second fitting is booked based on the halfway point from your initial measure-up, and the third and final fitting will come 3-4 weeks before the event, be that your wedding day or another special occasion. This final fitting allows us to accommodate for any variations in size.

What fabrics can I choose from, and how many are there?
We have an extensive selection of fabrics from which you can choose to make your custom suit. You can choose from over 500 different fabric variations to create a suit in any colour or texture you want – classic black or blue suits, white suits, maroon or forest green suits, and much more. All the fabrics we use are high quality, ranging from super 100 to super 150.

Do I have to pay for extra trimmings and customisations on my tailored suit?
Our pricing is set by quality, allowing you to enjoy the full customisation process when designing and creating your made-to-measure suit. This includes complete control over the design and look of your custom suit – choosing a slim fit or regular fit, single or double breast, lapel style and size, number and style of buttons, lining materials, pocket styles, waistband types and more. Some additions to your suit, such as personalised lining, will incur an extra cost- the best thing to do is talk to one of our experienced tailors about how we can bring your creation to life.

Can I walk in, or do I need to make an appointment for a custom suit fitting?
YSG Tailors is an appointment-based business, so we can devote time to ensuring our customers are fitted up perfectly for their custom tailored suit. Walk-ins are welcome, but we can’t guarantee that one of our staff can help you on the day. Contact one of our tailors today to book an initial custom suit consultation.

Do you work after hours or on weekends?
Yes, we do. We have appointments available seven days a week for made-to-measure suit fittings, including during the day, after-hours appointments and also both Saturday and Sunday. Friday evening and weekend appointments are our most popular time slots, so if this is the best option for you, booking well in advance is a good idea.

Can we come in for a look?
Absolutely. We encourage anyone looking for a made-to-measure suit to come in and chat with one of our team members. Choosing a tailored suit for a wedding or special occasion can be a little overwhelming for the uninitiated. We set aside up to an hour to discuss all things tailored suits with you, and if you are happy with what you hear, we will look at getting you and any other members of your party booked in for a fitting and custom styling session.

Can I get a custom suit in a rush or shorter timeframe?
We offer rush service options for those needing their custom suit sooner. If you think this applies to you, please reach out to us so we can discuss the best option for your needs.

HOW IT WORKS
FIRST STEP: COMPLIMENTARY CONSULTATION
Whether you need a specific appointment time, want to bring your groomsmen along, or need a guiding hand in the design, we’re here to make it happen. Simply get in touch via email, phone, or online enquiry and we’ll get back to you shortly. We’ll work around your schedule and that of your groomsmen to find a time that suits.
SECOND STEP: GET FITTED UP
Our expert tailors will carefully take your measurements to ensure a perfectly fitting suit. But a made to measure suit is about more than just measurements and personal preference. That’s why we also take photographs which help us to consider factors such as your body posture and balance in the fit.
THIRD STEP: DESIGN YOUR LOOK
We’ll sit down to discuss your suit design, whether it’s for your wedding, a special event or for work. If you have any photos for inspiration, bring them along and we can bring your ideas to life. You’ll also have the chance to explore a selection of premium fabrics to create the exact look you want.
FOURTH STEP: REFINEMENT
Once your suit has been designed and your order processed, you’ll have a short 4-6 week wait while it’s crafted. Then a number of fittings take place to nail the fit and make minor adjustments if needed. We can also finalise accessories to complete your entire look. The joy is you can get everything here.
FIFTH STEP: HANDOVER
The final step is the handover, which takes place in our showroom. As a custom tailor, we’re here to help. That means any additional assistance is simply our pleasure. Not only will we guarantee that the suit is fitting to perfection, but we can also offer advice on how to wear and style your custom suit.
